Smt. Prema Krishnamurthy:
Smt. Prema Krishnamurthy mami is a samskrita vidhushi. She is also well adept in dharma shastram and stree dharma. She is the saha dharmacharini of the legendary Mahamahopadyaya Brahmashri Krishnamurthy Sastrigal, Chennai. She is an expert in various dharmic topics pertaining to Stree Dharma including pooja vidanam, Golu, folk songs, traditional cooking, e.t.c. She, having been blessed by several great mahans, is now guiding several women/young girls in this path. With the blessings of Sharadamba, we are blessed to have her margadharshan.
Smt. Vijaya Vishwanathan:
Smt. Vijaya Viswanathan, has been very instrumental in providing inspiration and continued guidance for Ubhayabharati kanya gurukulam on a regular basis. She plays a major advisory role in designing the English and Math curriculum for the gurukulam.
She serves as the founding director of Agastya Gurukulam. Smt. Vijaya Vishwanathan is an MBA graduate from Wharton Business School and a mechanical engineer by training. After a successful stint in manufacturing and finance-based organizations in the US, Europe, and Singapore, Ms. Vijaya turned her focus to the education sector, thanks to her focus on pedagogy, mentoring, and curricula. Her experience in homeschooling her children led her to explore and gain profound insights into the Indic education system and its relevance to modern education. Ms. Vijaya had the rare opportunity to be tutored by Swami Dayananda Saraswati. Currently, she serves on the board of the Infinity Foundation. She is also a student of Vedanta and has co-authored books on Indiology-related topics.
Smt. Sahana Singh:
Sahana Singh is an author and commentator based in Ithaca, NY in the United States. Having a professional background in environmental engineering, she brings a unique perspective to her writing, with her grasp of diverse subjects such as Indian history, water management, and education. She has authored several books on the educational heritage of Bharat including “The Educational Heritage of Ancient India – How an Ecosystem of Learning was Laid to Waste” and “Revisiting the Educational Heritage of India”. She travels extensively within and outside Bharat and visits several gurukulam throughout the country thus enabling a deeper understanding of India’s cultural and educational roots
An alumnus of Delhi Technological University, Sahana made a career shift to writing after moving to Singapore. She worked as Editor of Asian Water Magazine for many years. Sahana’s articles have been published in Reader’s Digest, Washington Post, Discovery Channel Asia, Asian Water Magazine, Swarajya, IndiaFacts and other publications. Smt. Sahana is on the board of many nonprofit organizations related to history, heritage, education, and restoration of Samskara. She is passionate about travelling and connecting the dots across different societies, civilizations and disciplines. She serves our Gurukulam on an advisory role and advices us on the contemporary perspective and relevance of traditional education for girls.
Sri. Vikramaditya Chakrapani:
Sri. Vikramaditya Chakrapani is a seasoned educationist with two decades of experience, he has mentored countless teachers in the study abroad industry, refining their pedagogical approaches and subject matter expertise. His institute in Bangalore, where he coaches students for overseas higher education, utilizes his self-developed curriculum to foster academic excellence. Beyond his professional endeavors, he actively engages with non-governmental organizations, generously sharing his knowledge and resources to empower a broader community.
Smt. Soumya Krishnapur:
Dr. Sowmya Krishnapur is an expert teacher who has delivered 30+ popular courses through Vyoma, ranging from Bhashabhyasa to Kavya to Vyakarana Shastra. She is the Chief Linguistic Scholar for Vyoma Labs. The thousands of students benefiting stand as a testimonial to her scholarship and expertise in teaching. Sowmya is known for breaking down complex things into simple steps for students. We have seen learned students of Vyakarana attending her classes only to get conceptual clarity. She is known for teaching very well with an appropriate mixture of Sanskrit and English and ensures thorough understanding in her students.
She has been learning and teaching Sanskrit for more than 20 years. She had her basic training in Sanskrit at the Geetha Govinda Samskrita Sangha, Bangalore, under the guidance of Maataa Vid. Ananthalakshmi Natarajan and Sri Venkatasubramanian. She has completed all levels of Surasaraswathi Sabha exams, and has also completed Vidyabhooshana, the last level of Chittoor exams.
She learnt the Siddhanta Kaumudi from her guru, Vid. Smt. Vijayalakshmi M at Bangalore. She later completed her Acharya (Vyakarana) from the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Sringeri, learning from scholars like Dr. Chandrashekhar Bhat, Dr. Narasimha Murthy and Dr. Krishnananta Padmanabha. Sowmya has obtained her Ph.D. (with SRF) in the area of Vyakarana under the guidance of Dr. P Narasimhan (Department of Sanskrit, University of Madras). Sowmya has also learnt the Paushpi prakriyaa under Dr. Pushpa Dikshit.
Sowmya has been teaching Samskrita at various levels since nearly twenty years. As part of the Geetha Govinda Samskrita Sangha, Bangalore, she has trained children for various simple Sanskrit exams of Surasaraswati Sabha and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. She has taught Vyakarana for eight years at the post-graduate level as part of teaching assistance during her Ph.D. programme. She has been teaching through Vyoma-samskara-pathshala for more than ten years, and conducted more than 20 popular courses through this portal. She is the Chief Linguistic Scholar for this organization. She has presented research papers in various National and International conferences, and her articles have been published in several journals of repute. She has graciously agreed to serve as an advisory member for Ubhayabharati Kanya Gurukulam and also conducts periodic external assessments.
