SAMSKRITAM AND SAMSKRITI

I. Samskritam Education

Our samskritam education, under the guidance of Sringeri Jagadguru Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Mahaswami, is modelled based on the same paddati as the samskrita gurukula in the Sringeri Sharada Peetham. 

Girls begin learning shastriya samskritam at a young age (ideally starting at 6 years of age). 

This helps their brain development in the following ways:

• develops their ability to memorize, remember and retrieve information
• develops their logical thinking eg. samskritam grammar uses logic similar to modern computer programming languages
• develops their linguistic abilities eg. most texts in samskritam are written in poetic meters

II. Samskriti Education

I. GURUKULA VASA
– Emphasis on traditional bharatiya immersive lifestyle.
– Regular sessions on dharma shastram and Stree dharma.
– Highly phone and gadget restricted environment.
– Under watchful care of caretakers at all times, especially during online classes involving computers etc.
– Dedicated LIBRARY TIME at Ubhayabharati Granthalaya.
– Nitya Karma Anushtanam, Nitya Go Pooja and Nitya Deva pooja.

II. KALA:
I.Several bharatiya arts and skills are being taught: 

• Shastriya Sangeetham and Shastriya narthanam for 8 hours a week.
• Veenai: 2 hours per week.
• Harikatha: Monthly session.
• Workshops: Arts & Crafts, Kolam, garland making, painting, jewellery making, e.t.c.

II. YOGA + KREEDA
– Periodic instruction in ashtanga yoga
– Sampradaya-based kreeda (sport) on a daily basis.

III. SEVA:
– The girls learn to perform daily chores for themselves and for the gurukulam.
– They will soon learn to cook and serve food traditionally.
– They maintain a home garden (Krishi).

IV. VIGNYANA:
I. NIOS Education:
– All girls learn English, Mathematics at CBSE level.
– Science (Modern and Bharateeya) and Itihasa (decolonized Indian history) are taught as workshops.
– All girls will graduate with a X and XII certificate through National Institute of Open Schooling with subjects chosen based on their interest and specialization.
– All girls will have strong basic training in Shastriya Sangeetam, Bharatanatyam, Ayurveda and Yoga, and can choose to specialize in these fields.
– They can also choose other subjects like commerce, accountancy etc.

II. Computer science and coding: This will be offered to select girls around 14-16 yrs age as a career track.
